Discover six generations and more than 160 years of family winemaking. While the Sutherland Smith family roots stretch back to the early years of the Rutherglen wine industry, a new chapter commenced in 1991 when fifth generation winemaker Andrew Sutherland Smith established Warrabilla Wines. In the years since, Warrabilla has forged a reputation as a producer of highly expressive wines, prized for their unmatched intensity. Home to some of the most powerful red wines in the country, the focus here rests heavily on Shiraz and Durif, with heritage varieties such as Grenache and Malbec adding interest to the range. While the red wines may receive most of the plaudits, the white wines are not to be missed with a classical, dry Riesling and textured Fiano available. Located 15 minutes west of the Rutherglen township, the cellar door is open 7 days a week and offers a warm and welcoming tasting experience, high on authenticity and low on pretense. Group tastings and winery tours available by prior arrangement.
