Events

Throughout the year, YMTB plays a vital role in hosting and supporting a wide range of community events. Each event we contribute to helps attract tourism to the town, providing valuable support to local businesses and strengthening the community.
We are also actively developing plans to introduce additional events aimed at enriching the community and enhancing local engagement.

Yarrawonga Powerboat Spectacular & Fair

Every April, Lake Mulwala serves as the backdrop for the highly anticipated three-day event, the Yarrawonga Powerboat Spectacular & Fair, which also features the long-standing E.C. Griffith Cup race.
This thrilling event attracts thousands of visitors from across Australia, who gather in Yarrawonga and Mulwala to witness the exhilarating spectacle of high-powered boats racing across the lake.

YMTB, in collaboration with Moira Shire and the Victorian Speedboat Club, works diligently to ensure the event's success. The influx of visitors provides a significant boost to local businesses, positively impacting the town's economy.

Lake Mulwala Rod Run

For many years, Yarrawonga has had the honour of hosting the Lake Mulwala Rod Run. Each November, hundreds of classic, vintage, and show cars from across the country converge on Yarrawonga and Mulwala for an exciting two-day event. The highlight takes place on Saturday night, when the main street of Yarrawonga is closed to traffic, allowing the cars to cruise through and proudly showcase their impressive vehicles to the public. Local businesses and restaurants extend a warm welcome, offering food and drinks for spectators as they enjoy this spectacular display of Hot Rods.

Kids Festival & Kick Off Fair

During the winter school holidays, the Yarrawonga Mulwala Kids Festival takes place, offering a week-long program of family-friendly activities. Local businesses across both towns host a variety of special events throughout the week, specifically designed to entertain and engage children during the school break. YMTB collaborates closely with these businesses to create and distribute event schedules, ensuring the festival is well-publicized throughout the community.

Additionally, YMTB proudly hosts the Kids Festival Kick-Off Carnival, a new initiative launched in 2024. Following its successful debut, the carnival in 2025 is set to be larger and more exciting than ever, building on the positive feedback from the inaugural event.

Monster Xmas Market

Each December, YMTB hosts the highly anticipated Monster Xmas Market, an event that attracts a diverse array of small market vendors from across the region, as well as from other parts of Victoria and New South Wales. With over 70 stalls, food vendors, children's entertainment, and live music, the market offers a vibrant and festive atmosphere. This event has become a beloved tradition for locals, providing a unique shopping experience and the perfect opportunity to pick up last-minute Christmas gifts.

Future Planned Events

YMTB is currently working on plans to introduce larger-scale events to the Yarrawonga Mulwala region—events designed to attract visitors from across the state and the country. Stay tuned for exciting announcements in the near future.
